Last Saturday saw the opening of a new exhibition in The National Gallery of Ireland. 'The Sketchbooks of Jack. B. Yeats' runs until the 5th May and for the first time brings together a selection of Yeats' sketchbooks as well as digital presentation on tablets. The gallery, as a result of the Anne Yeats gift in 2004, holds 204 of these sketchbooks which Yeats used for inspiration for his oil paintings. Supplemented by letters and photographs from the Yeats archive this promises to be a worthwhile visit.
The exhibition is in the Beit Wing- Room 13. http://www.nationalgallery.ie/Home/Exhibitions/The_Sketchbooks_of_Jack_B_Yeats.aspx
